Best Outdoor Attraction AND Best Kid-Friendly Attraction AND Best Attraction in Hadley/Lake Luzerne: Sacandaga Outdoor Center

Sacandaga Outdoor Center in Hadley is a must-stop while visiting the area as a winner of three separate categories. They offer whitewater rafting, lazy river tubing, and kayak rentals where the Hudson and Sacandaga Rivers meet.

Best Cruise or Boat Tour: Lake George Steamboat Company

If you want to get out on the water during your stay in the Lake George area, look no further than Lake George Steamboat Company. They offer daily cruises on the lake on their three large steamboats, The Minne-Ha-Ha, The Mohican, and Lac du Saint Sacrement, from May through the end of October.

They offer everything from meal cruises to sightseeing tours, island and bay tours, fireworks cruises, entertainment cruises, and more. All cruises are narrated so you can learn about the fascinating history of Lake George.

Best Beach: Million Dollar Beach

There are many beaches to explore in Lake George, but Million Dollar Beach is one of the most popular in the area. The beach is open from 10 AM to 6 PM daily from the end of May through the beginning of September each year.

It’s clean and large and has a roped-off area for swimming, showers, a volleyball court, picnic areas with grills, and parking. There are lifeguards on duty for those with small children, as well as a boat inspection, boat washing station, and boat launch.

Best Mini Golf: Pirate’s Cove Adventure Golf

Grab the whole family and see why Pirate’s Cove Adventure Golf in Lake George has been voted “Best Mini Golf” for years and years. As soon as you enter, you will be transported into an authentic pirate village complete with sunken ships, waterfalls, dungeons, and more. Their 18-hole course is open seasonally from the end of April through October.

They also have a location in Queensbury, NY, which you can walk to from your campsite or cottage at our Adirondack campground!

Best Horseback Riding: Circle B Ranch

Experience trail riding with Circle B Ranch in Chestertown, just 30 minutes from Lake George Campsites. The ranch has been around since the 1800s, and since then, the land has never been developed, leaving 3,000 acres of untouched wilderness for guests to appreciate and admire.

They offer guided horseback rides and horseback riding lessons, and they even do sleigh rides in the winter. Choose between the 1-hour Beaver Dam Trail or the 2-hour Circle B Mountain & Valley Trail.

Best Attraction in the Adirondacks, North of Lake George: Natural Stone Bridge and Caves

Natural Stone Bridge & Caves is just over half an hour from Lake George in Pottersville and is home to the largest marble cave entrance in the eastern US. This exceptional attraction offers self-guided and above-ground tours, including a Summer Adventure Tour with a cave crawl and cave float.
