Nine Go-To Camping Snacks

Camping and snacking are two things that go hand in hand. Being able to nibble on something throughout the day while hanging at the campsite or out on a fishing, hiking, or boating excursion keeps energy levels up and ensures that everyone is fueled and ready for the next adventure. We are thrilled to share our nine favorite camping snacks with you today. Whether you are camping with us at our private campground in Lake George, NY, or a state park or public campground somewhere else in the country, you can enjoy these mouth-watering snacks.

Trail mix

Trail mix is a versatile snack, so it’s perfect for camping. You can either buy it pre-mixed for added convenience or get a bit creative and make your own by purchasing all of your favorite nuts, seeds, dried fruits, etc., and mixing them together. If you need some inspiration, here are some things to consider adding to your trail mix: almonds, cashews, peanuts, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, raisins, dried cranberries, dried apricots, coconut chips, banana chips, pretzels, chocolate chips, or mini marshmallows. The possibilities, indeed, are endless!

Jerky

There are many different kinds of jerky: beef, turkey, salmon, mushroom, etc., so chances are there is one out there that you will find appetizing. Most jerky is high in protein and convenient to grab and go for hiking, biking, or just sitting around the campfire.

Peanut butter-filled pretzels

Peanut butter-filled pretzels have it all: protein, healthy fats, and packability. Plus, the sweet and salty combo is undeniably delicious. If you can’t find them at your local grocery store, just grab a bag of pretzel sticks instead and pack a small jar of peanut butter for dipping.

Olives

Olives are not only super flavorful but are loaded with healthy fats. They will also add an air of sophistication to your camping snack spread. They even have grab-and-go bags of olives like these from Oloves or these from Mario Camacho Foods for ultimate portability and no mess.
