Find Out What’s Included With the Cabin

Knowing what is included with a camping cottage or cabin stay is the first step to understanding what you’ll need to pack.

We have five different styles of cottages – Algonquin, Cascade, Iroquois, Marcy, and Whiteface – and all of our cabins include:

  • Heat and air conditioning
  • A kitchenette or full kitchen
  • A full bathroom with stand-up shower or tub
  •  A dining area
  • At least one TV
  • Toilet paper and basic toiletries (shampoo, soap, paper towels, etc.)

The kitchens and kitchenettes include a microwave, coffeemaker, toaster, oven/stove or electric cooktop, pots/pans/dishes, utensils, and a mini or full refrigerator.

Linens, pillows, and towels can be added to reservations for an additional $50. Otherwise, guests must bring their own.

Outdoor shared fire pits and picnic tables are available for all guests to utilize.

Plan Your Itinerary & Meals

Although you’ll want to leave some room for downtime and exploring, have a basic idea of what your day-to-day camping trip is going to look like, including daily meals and snacks.

If you’re staying in a cabin, you’ll have access to a cooktop and can prepare accordingly – although you’ll want to bring any special tools and supplies needed to cook over the campfire if you plan to do that. We do sell firewood and s’mores supplies in our Camp Store if you find yourself in a pinch!

Make a list of your must-do activities around Lake George during your stay. We’re down the road from Six Flags Great Escape & Hurricane Harbor and are close to other area attractions. You may also want to fit in a hike or some water-based activities, like kayaking or whitewater rafting, each of which are available close to our campground.

Make Reservations Ahead of Time

It’s never too soon to start planning your Lake George camping trip! The earlier you start planning the better chance you have of snagging your first choice cabin or campsite, for the dates that you wish to use it. Weekends and holidays tend to book up far in advance, so if you’re planning to come for Americade or the 4th of July, you’ll want to get planning as soon as possible!

That said, there’s nothing to stop you from making a last-minute reservation, should some time open up in your schedule, if the campground has the availability.

Either way, as you get closer to your arrival date, you’ll want to keep an eye on the weather, and make any adjustments in your plans or packing list. (No worries if the weather looks less than perfect – there are plenty of fun rainy day activities to enjoy in Lake George!)
