See All the Advantages to Seasonal RV Camping in the Southern Adirondacks

Are you thinking about the next camping season already? Maybe you’re even considering a seasonal site at an RV campground. Here at Lake George Campsites, we offer great rates on seasonal sites, and that’s just one of many reasons to opt for a seasonal site here in our corner of the southern Adirondack region in NY.

The Flexibility to Come & Go

Perhaps the biggest perk to having your own seasonal campsite is being able to come and go from the site as you please. You have the freedom to stay at home one weekend or travel to another destination without giving up your prime camping spot.

Being Able to Camp Last Minute

For many, camping is weather-dependent (although you’ll be covered in your RV!). Weather predictions can also change at the last moment. Did you have a weekend last season where you canceled camping because of forecasted rain, only to see nothing but clear skies? With a seasonal site, you can camp last minute with no reservation!

Packing, Driving & Towing Simplified

It’s tough to RV camp for just a weekend, but most of us work throughout the summer and can’t take the entire season off. Sometimes weekends are ideal, but it can be discouraging if you spend most of Friday evening packing and then unloading, and ditto for Sunday. But with your RV already at the campground at your designated site, packing, driving, and towing the RV (or lack thereof) is suddenly streamlined.

Storage Taken Care Of

RV owners know that storage is a big part of the responsibility that comes with having your own camper. It may or may not be difficult to store your RV at your primary residence, but either way, with a seasonal campsite, you don’t have to worry about it for the entire camping season.

You’re Good to Go for the Holiday Periods

Holiday periods typically cost more at campgrounds, including those in the southern Adirondack region.

We consider the holiday periods in Lake George to be the following:

  • Memorial Day (May 22 – 28, 2024)
  • Americade (May 27 – June 2, 2024)
  • 4th of July (July 3 – 9, 2024)
  • Labor Day (August 28 – September 3, 2024)

Rates are higher during holiday periods, but not for those who are already here because they purchased a seasonal campsite!

Be a Part of the Community – On & Off the Campground

If you love staying at an RV campground enough to be considering a seasonal site, you and your family likely enjoy the social aspect of private campgrounds. Your kids can play with the other kids at our playground, pool, or game room. The adults can enjoy evening chats by the fire, and everyone can get on at campground events. Campers with a seasonal site are even more likely to meld into the campground community.

Plus, when you’re primarily camping in one place for the whole season, you get more opportunities to explore the local area. Lake George is in the southern part of the Adirondack Park, and the region is rife with hiking trails like Prospect Mountain, on-the-water activities like lake cruises or parasailing, unique attractions, and so much more.
