Definitely bring your golf clubs along if you’re vacationing or camping in Lake George, The Queen of American Lakes. The Lake George region has a plethora of golf courses to suit any caliber of player, and we’ve compiled a list of the best for you. Today, August 1, marks the start of National Golf Month, so we felt this was an appropriate topic.

Cronin’s Golf Resort (15 miles from Lake George Campsites)

Cronin’s Golf Resort is a family-owned and operated resort and golf course in Warrensburg, NY. Their course is an 18-hole 6, 161-yard, par 70 course. You can enjoy epic views of the Adirondack Mountains and the Hudson River while golfing at Cronin’s.

They offer daily, weekly, and monthly packages. You can even tour the course online and watch preview videos of each hole!

Queensbury Country Club (5.6 miles from Lake George Campsites)

Queensbury Country Club is a public, 18-hole, par 70 course nestled in the Adirondack Park. Enjoy scenic mountain views from every hole and rent a pull cart or riding cart for convenience.

They offer practice facilities, including a driving range and putting green. And you can enjoy lunch and drinks in the bar and cocktail lounge after a round of golf.

The Sagamore (17 miles from Lake George Campsites)

The Sagamore Golf Course in Bolton Landing is an 18-hole, par 70 course that was designed and built in 1928 under Donald Ross’s personal supervision. The course “uses the natural environment to give each hole its challenge and beauty.” Golfers enjoy stunning vistas of Lake George and the Adirondacks making their tee shots at each hole.

They offer a practice range, professional instruction for new players or those who want to hone their skills, and an award-winning Pro Shop, which you can browse before or after you play. You can enjoy exclusive benefits if you become a Gold Member, including unlimited golf, a complimentary cart, balls, and bag storage, as well as discounts at the salon and spa.

If you want to save a few bucks, they do offer 9-hole play after 3 PM and twilight rates for golf games after 2 PM, where walking is permitted.

Sunnyside Par 3 (4.4 miles from Lake George Campsites)

Sunnyside Par 3 is a 9-hole course in Queensbury that is great for golfers of all ages and skill levels. They are open seven days a week with no tee time required – just show up ready to improve your short game! They offer balls, tees, carts, and club rentals.

They even have “under the lights” golf from 8 – 10:30 PM if you want to hit some late-night balls. Plus, they have delicious food in the clubhouse, with offerings from mini tacos to pizzas and hamburgers. And be sure to try a signature cocktail like the chocolate-covered strawberry martini!

Top of the World Golf Resort (8 miles from Lake George Campsites)

Tucked away in the heart of the Adirondack Mountains with remarkable views of Lake George, Top of the World offers a challenging 18-hole golf course. If you haven’t seen the view from the golf course, you are truly missing out.

Their seasonal rates offer some of the most competitive greens fees in the area, and they have a Ten Card Pass available to purchase for those who want to play more frequently. Top of the World also has a driving range, and they offer memberships.

Virtual golf has made its way to the area.

Virtual golf is increasing in popularity and has made its way to the Capital Region. If this interests you, check out The Luxury Box in Queensbury (only .3 miles from Lake George Campsites).
